Diegnan to Christie: Cancel trip to Iowa, condemn Rep. Steve King's actions

COMMENTARY

I was actually saddened to read that Governor Christie intends to campaign for Congressman Steve King in Iowa next week. Congressman King recently joined Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in making an outrageous claim that Huma Abedin, an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, had ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

To their credit the allegations were rejected by Republican lawmakers, including U.S. Sen. John McCain who called Bachmann’s accusations “sinister” and without merit, and House Speaker John Boehner who said “accusations like this being thrown around are pretty dangerous.”

This is the United States of America after all. We must never ignore hate speech whether it be based on race, religion or ethnic background. Despite our political differences, I know that Governor Christie is a good man. I'm sure he recognizes that a true patriot stands up to demagogues even if they are members of his own political party.

I therefore implore him to do the right thing. Show an example not only to Republicans but to all Americans. Cancel your trip to Iowa and join Senator McCain and Speaker Boehner in condemning the actions of Congressman King.

Patrick Diegnan (D-Middlesex) is the chair of the Assembly Education Committee and represents the 18th Legislative District.

I suggest Diegnam and others interested in our national/Homeland security and stopping the spread of the Muslim Brotherhood in our government read the letter Rep. Bachmann wrote to Rep. Ellison when he asked for more detailed information on the five letters she and four other courageous congressional representatives wrote to five IG offices. Her 16-page letter, July 13, 2012 can be read on her website or go directly to: http://bachmann.house.gov/uploadedfiles/letter_to_rep._ellison.pdf

Next. Go to former PLO terrorists, Walid Shoebat’s website and in the upper left of the first page link to: Huma Abedin - Hilary Clinton's Deputy Chief of Staff Exposed and it will take you to another page that lists more information on Huma Abedin. Here is the absolute proof both she and her family had ties with al-Qaeda financer named Abdullah Omar Naseef. Read: “Abedin ‘Affairs’ with Al Sauid”, it details the Abedins were for decades affiliated with an al-Qaeda financier named Abdullah Omar Naseef.

Next read a 38-page document titled “Proof: Huma has Ties to Muslim Brotherhood”

Now look over the 127-page Office of Personnel Management (SF) Form 86, Questionnaire for National Security Positions and ask yourself how in the world did she ever become employed with our government in 1997 when she went to work for then Sen. Clinton? Why didn’t those conducting the top-security clearance on Ms. Abedin fail to find these obvious connections?
