After a recent foodie getaway to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I can tell you a visit there is even more fun than spelling it. Not only is the seafood out-of-this-world but the coast offers 26 miles of a blissfully uncrowded white sandy beach, the longest man-made beach in the world, romantic lighthouses, shrimp boats ( which kept me supplied with numerous bowls of shrimp gumbo) and a multitude of cultural offerings ranging from the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art to the Mississippi Blues and Country Music Trails. But what really got me at hello was the incredible spirit and tenacity of Mississippians.
